Advantages to a Steamboat Vacation

When you look at all the resorts in Colorado in can be quite overwhelming.  There are over twenty ski and mountain resorts in the state and trying to pick the right one can sometime be like throwing a needle into a haystack.  With that being said, here are some nice advantages to choosing Steamboat Springs as your place to getaway this winter or summer.

Steamboat Springs is in the Yampa Valley about three hours from Denver.  Some look at this as bring far from a major airport, however this can be a blessing. One of the main highlights to Steamboat is that it stays much less crowded than it's competitors like Breckenridge and Aspen.  Who likes waiting in lift lines?  Our thoughts exactly.

It's base is around 6,000 feet making it one of the lower resorts in Colorado.  In the summer this makes for warmer more pleasant mountain days and in the winter it helps the mountain stay less frigid than other places.  Granted, the ski season can run shorter than higher resorts, but during the main bulk of the season, the conditions are wonderful.

Champagne Powder?! Okay, so maybe the resort exaggerates a little, but the powder conditions in Steamboat are pretty darn awesome.  The snow during the heart of ski season is quite dry and fluffy and definitely a great experience.
